Who Am I?

My name is Christopher Matthew Josemaria Escriva Perez-Merino (please call me Chris).

I was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, to a family working office jobs in government and social services. However, my grandparents worked with their hands, constructing entire farms and businesses from the ground up. At age 10, I visited one of my grandfather's workplaces and felt energy rush through me as I saw everything being built. That passion flowed into theatre and became the main focus throughout my career.

Since then, I have worked in operas (Des Moines Metro Opera, Opera on the James), playhouses (Endstation Theatre Co, Crane River Theater, American Shakespeare Center, Academy Center of the Arts), and currently tour with the circus!
